Last night I did my first live Facebook event on the Inbetween Group. I’m more comfortable on zoom, but I think it went okay, with only a few glitches. I may do these more often, now that I’ve broken the ice.
The event was to celebrate the launch of Black Annis Year and we talked about the many themes in this book, including animal rescue, dark fairies, wind phones and more. For the last 2 weeks, there have been spoiler posts for these topics in the FB group and the discord group (links below). There have been some terrific conversations and observations on these posts.
I also announced the winners of the various contests that were going on for the new release. Here they are:
~ Roberta Mary won the Small Town Charm Cozy Fantasy Contest. Roberta will be getting a signed hardcover of Black Annis Year from me along with a prize pack, plus paperbacks from 6 authors.
~ Ken Baker is the winner of the Spoiler Thread Contest. Ken wins a signed paperback of Black Annis Year.
~ Dayna Clark is the ARC Team winner of the signed hardcover of Black Annis Year.
Now I must get back to writing! So many stories still to tell. I’m already 30k words into the new Knack book, and I’m eager to continue Conall and Rowan’s story.

Black Annis Year
If you haven’t checked out Black Annis Year yet, I invite you to take a look at the many, many glowing reviews. This is a story I’ve been wanting to write for years. Books that are dear to an author’s heart don’t always translate well to readers, so I’m thrilled that this book has been so well received.

The Geomancer's Apprentice
by Yin Leong
Junie Soong reaches a new low in her life when she’s fired from Starbucks. Her brother is brilliant, her parents are stars in their professions while she … trails behind in everything. Things start looking up when Joe Tham, a struggling geomancer and feng shui master based in Washington, D.C.,’s Chinatown, takes her on as his apprentice.
Junie finds out monsters are real while she and Joe investigate an eerie sinkhole in their client’s cellar. She also discovers she may be the last of a line of warriors who can channel qi, the essential life force underpinning the universe.
She now must race against time to learn how to wield her powers while fending off shape-shifting, malevolent creatures from the depths of Diyu, the Chinese version of Hell. Not only that, she and Joe must deal with the ghosts that are suddenly manifesting in the cellar.
The Geomancer's Apprentice is the first book in an urban fantasy series featuring Asian mysticism and magic, and terrifying monsters from Asian folklore.
