COVER REVEAL
FAIR FOLK OF MULLARKEY BOOK 2
I tend to go into hermit mode when I’m editing and it’s no different with my current WIP, Book 2 of The Fair Folk of Mullarkey Series. I’m deep into my final edit and so I’ve let a few things slide, but I did manage to get the cover done. That means I’ve also put it up for pre-order. Details below, and now I'm thrilled to bring you the shiny new cover!

I kind of love it because it taps into my interest in fungi and forest lore (as does the book). What do you think? Do you like the cover? Are you looking forward to a new tale from Mullarkey Mills?
The release date for the ebook will be May 7, 2026.
Here’s my first try at a blurb. It will probably change a bit before release date.
Protect the Crossing. Protect the town. Protect her heart.
Two years ago, Joelle arrived in Mullarkey Mills chasing answers and ghosts. Deep in the forest, she found a crumbling, long-forgotten inn—and a sense of belonging she never expected. Now Cedar Grove Inn is her home, her purpose, and her secret. Because hidden on its grounds lies the Hallow Crossing, a rare and dangerous threshold between the mortal world and the fae.
Keeping the crossing safe is a full-time job… and that’s before the renovation headaches begin.
Between hammering floorboards, coaxing stubborn doors to behave, and managing guests with more curiosity than caution, Joelle is stretched to her limit. A relentless paranormal investigator checks in with cameras rolling and questions Joelle can’t afford to answer. Strange happenings ripple through the inn. And the fae are always watching—especially the queen beyond the crossing, who is determined to keep humans out of her realm and her people from ever leaving it again.
Then Oscar arrives—quiet, grieving, and far too perceptive. He sees more than Joelle wants revealed, including the truth behind her careful distance. His feelings are clear. Hers are…complicated.
As outside attention threatens to expose the inn’s deepest magic, Joelle must decide who to trust, what to reveal, and how much she’s willing to risk to protect the Hallow Crossing. Because if its secrets come to light, Mullarkey Mills won’t just lose its newest innkeeper—it may lose the boundary that keeps the fae from walking straight through the door.
Warm, whimsical, and threaded with enchantment, Hallow Crossing is Book Two in The Fair Folk of Mullarkey—a cozy fae fantasy series brimming with found family, small town warmth, and hearts brave enough to go looking for magic.
Pre-orders for the ebook are up at Amazon already. Click the button below to find that. This series will be in wide distribution, so other stores will follow. I'll note them here when they come available, but you can always check the FAIR FOLK OF MULLARKEY SERIES PAGE for updates.

NEWSLETTER MIGRATION
If you read my last email, you’ll know that I will be migrating my newsletter to Substack in March. I wanted to address some questions you might have about this change.
Why am I getting the same email twice? If you have already signed up with Substack, you’ll get 2 versions of this email until I make the switch. I apologize for that, but I want to give as many people as possible the chance to migrate manually before I dump the list onto the new platform because apparently, Substack frowns on that sort of thing.
Why is the change taking so long? Other than giving people a chance to make the switch, I will need to redo several other components to the newsletter (such as welcome emails, etc) and right now, I am laser focused on getting the edits done for Hallow Crossing. I need to clone myself. Until then, please bear with me while I sort through these big changes.
When will the final migration to Subtack happen? I plan to have the change made by the end of March at the latest.
I missed the first email about this change. Where can I find it? If you missed that email, you can see it on my BLOG.
Where can I follow/subscribe to you on Substack? You can find me here: https://substack.com/@kimmcdougallbooks. Be sure to subscribe and follow me.
Do I have to download the Substack app on my phone? No. You can visit Substack online at https://substack.com. No need for a phone or an app.
If I don’t want to join Substack, can I still get your newsletter? Yes, I will upload the entire list of subscribers to Substack. This means you will get the newsletter delivered to your email inbox. If you want to explore Substack at a later date, you will be welcome to do so.
Have more questions? Feel free to reply in the comments.
AUDIOBOOK TROUBLES
Before I get into my audiobook lament, I want to let you know that today is the last day to save 50% on the audiobook for Kelpies Don’t Fly at Audiobooks.com.
SAVE 50% ON KELPIES DON'T FLY AUDIOBOOK
Next, I want to let you know about an issue I’ve been having with the last 4 audiobooks in the Valkyrie Bestiary Series. This affects the following titles:Ghouls Don’t Scamper
Devils Don’t Lie
Unicorns Don’t Cry
Worlds Don’t Collide
You might have noticed that these titles disappeared from Audible. This is because I originally distributed them through FindAway Voices, which has now become InAudio. Then last summer I decided to open my own account with ACX, which is the proprietary platform for Audible. This just makes more sense, since it cuts out one middle man and will save me some revenue.
On October 6, 2025, I asked InAudio to cease their distribution of these titles so I could begin the migration to ACX. Just this week (4 months later!), they finally completed the take down of these titles. InAudio’s customer service agents have not been able to provide me with any reasonable answer as to why this took so long (it was only suppose to take 3 weeks), and I've been battling with them since October.
I uploaded the audiobooks to ACX and they should be available on Audible within the month.
I know this is frustrating for listeners who might be in the middle of the series. Believe me, it’s frustrating for me too. If I had known the process was such a hassle, I wouldn’t have initiated the change.
I will continue to keep on top of this issue and try to have it sorted asap. In the mean time, I would suggest finding these books on another platform such as Kobo Plus, Spotify or Audiobooks.com. I apologize for this kerfuffle. You can visit the VALKYRIE BESTIARY SERIES PAGE, to find links to all these retailers and more.
BOOK FAIRS
Rather than duplicate content, I'm going to point you to the BOOK FAIRS PAGE to find your curated lists of books for this month.Despite the alternatives on the market, Kindle Unlimited subscribers continue to enjoy a huge library of free ebooks to choose from. Sometimes that vast choice can be overwhelming. Check out this month's KU Fair for some narrower choices.
Kobo Plus is one of those alternatives to KU that I mentioned. There are 2 curated Kobo Plus Fairs to showcase this subscription model.
And if you want something free without any subscription, I've got one of those for you too. And be sure to grab your free book from one of my favorite authors, L.A. McBride in the Spotlight Books. Enjoy!

Inferno Bound
L.A. McBride
Just because I look like a sweet witch next door doesn’t mean I fight like one.
I was supposed to be the girl who went to a state college, joined my hometown coven, and dodged invites to multi-level marketing parties. Trusting the wrong vamp damned me to a different life.
Now? I’m the pint-sized assassin no one sees coming.
Framed for a crime I didn’t commit, I was forced to become a Shadow, using my fire elemental powers to do the Enclave’s bidding. A decade working alongside the world’s most ruthless bloodsuckers and shifters honed me into a weapon capable of surviving a brutal world.
When a mission pops up in my hometown with the vampire who framed me as the target, I’ll beg, bribe, and coerce my way onto that team. Despite the broody lone wolf lobbying to keep me off this mission, I’ll do anything for vengeance. Even attend my high school reunion.
Inferno Bound is the prequel to the Alchemy of Witches series. If you love fast-paced urban fantasy with quirky characters, found family, and slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance, this is the series for you.

Vampire Graduate Scheme
Placement 3 - Executive Assistant
by G Clatworthy
When your boss is a vampire who wants to rule the country, surviving the office takes on a whole new meaning.
I’ve managed to claw my way out of the Archives and ended up as an assistant to the ruthless vampire CEO of the Bathory Corporation - Elizabeth Bathory herself.
I thought this was a way to fast track my career, but it turns out that she’s got ambitions greater than running a global conglomerate. She wants to become Prime Minister. And I don’t think her policies are good for Britain’s health.
And then there’s Liam, our sexy IT guy with glasses that make his eyes even more devastating. He’s a distraction I can’t afford, especially when my entire career (and possibly my life) is on the line.
A low-stakes urban fantasy with workplace drama, a slow-burn office romance, and just a touch of impending doom. This series is set in the same world as Rise of Dragons and Omensford series
