Welcome to the Hidden Coven

Tucked away in the rugged hills of Pennsylvania is a unique village; a mix of medieval and modern, dark and light, guided by a mad seer and hidden from the mundane world by dangerous magic. As ley-lines swell, and magic spills back into the world, keeping this coven a secret becomes a race against dark forces who would take the power of the witches for their own.

Inborn Magic: Hidden Coven Series, Book 1

Odd coincidences force Bobbi Cole to learn to control her strange powers. Her first attempt at spell-casting leaves her paralyzed, and only the High Priestess of the Hidden Coven can help. Quinn Mason, head of security for the coven, doesn’t want Bobbi around. He doesn’t trust strangers. Not when a demonic force is looking for a way inside the coven’s defenses to steal their most valuable resource: magic. Bobbi will have to battle Quinn’s mistrust and her own insecurities to get a firm grip on her magic, and do it before the witches face their ultimate enemy. Inborn Magic is the first novella in the Hidden Coven Series.

"It is rare that I find a Pagan romance which is so action-packed and well written. Kim McDougall brightens a dark path, filled with mystery and suspense, as an unskilled witch is determined to complete her journey, all while blocking out the negativity which surrounds her. The detail written into the sabbats, esbats, rituals and the Pagan faith is astounding, warming my heart to its very core. Whether as a solitary practitioner or a member of a coven, wielding the power of witchcraft is a wondrous thing, engulfing true followers with an unseen, undefeatable force of wisdom, truth and, in the case of Inborn Magic, history of the craft and a romance, the likes of which has never before been seen. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every twist and turn of Inborn Magic, and recommend it to fans of the paranormal, followers of Paganism, and devotees of true love." Reviewed By Rosie Malezer for Readers’ Favorite

Soothed by Magic: Hidden Coven Series, Book 2

“I tended to fiddle with magic the way some people doodle while on the phone.” Bobbi is summed up in fifteen words, and that is the beauty of Kim McDougall’s writing; it is succinct, fast-paced, and so easy to read that the story only loses its grip long after “The End”, and then the reader is left looking forward to book three. Soothed by Magic is a very apt title in the context of this intriguing, suspenseful, tale. “Soothed” is not the feeling I experienced whilst reading it. “Couldn’t put it down”, “Gripping”, and “Must-read” are all overused phrases, but every one of them applies to Kim McDougall’s novel. Soothed by Magic is riveting, enthralling, attention-grabbing and holding, and… Got it! Spellbinding." -Reviewed by Sarah Stuart for Readers' Favorite.

"Kim McDougall’s urban fantasy novel, Soothed by Magic, is the second book in her Hidden Cove series. While she gives enough background information throughout the story to enable a reader to enjoy this as a stand-alone novel, I would quite strongly recommend starting with the first book in the series, Inborn Magic, to get the full impact of this absorbing and enjoyable paranormal series. McDougall fully develops her characters and gives the reader insights into the genesis of the Hidden Coven in that first book, and Soothed by Magic follows beautifully from it. McDougall is a master at building her plot, her characters and their relationships, and that skill stands her in good stead in this compelling and suspenseful tale. The reader can feel the tension and growing alarm of Bobbi’s friends as they begin to intuit a much darker purpose behind William Fain’s attentions. I had a marvelous time reading this second book in the series and am looking forward to reading Book 3: Trigger Magic. Soothed by Magic: Hidden Coven Series, Book 2 is most highly recommended." Five months after her demon father tries to use her body to break into the world, Bobbi finds a new enemy stalking her. Reluctantly, she seeks help from the witches of the Hidden Coven and Quinn Mason, the man who saved her from the dark rites that would have killed her.

While training with defensive magic, Bobbi botches a spell with dire consequences. Her mother’s grimoire may hold the key to fixing their mess, but no one has seen it since the day Bobbi’s family perished in a fire, over twenty years ago. Quinn and Bobbi visit the ruins of her childhood home where odd memories of a nursery rhyme lure them into deeper danger.

Trigger Magic: Hidden Coven Series, Book 3 finds Bobbi still wishing she could cast spells for everything, but there are critical gaps in her skill. She does know, when she enters her house one stormy night, that there is an aether present, other than those created by her plants or a stray cat, and she fears her father’s evil machinations. Un-witchlike, she dials 911, but the intruder blasts her with powerful magic. Thus, author Kim McDougall grounds Book 3 in the series quickly for new readers, so welcome to Pennsylvania’s unique village. The secret coven is once more under attack from Koro, and Bobbi feels responsible. Quinn, in charge of security and busily trying to deny his attraction to Bobbi, feels responsible. Will either of them defeat the enemy, or will it take both? Will the coven survive?

Bobbi-created rift in the wall that protects the coven… an insane demon… berserkers… swollen lay-lines… and through it all the thread of an unlikely romance. The trigger is magic, dark magic that must be defeated, and it leads Bobbi and Quinn into danger. “There was a crooked man who walked a crooked mile.” Who would have dreamed that a nursery rhyme could lead to peril? Kim McDougall, mistress of the art of making fantasy seem more real than reality with her adroit use of the everyday to make readers believe in magic: that’s who. Trigger Magic is her third book that’s left me searching for another word to describe her writing. I’ve used riveting, enthralling, and spellbinding. Captivating; I can’t wait to read Book 4.
